The Digital Egyptian Sculpture Project (DESP) is a work-in-progress 3D imaging project by the Egyptology Program at Indiana University-Bloomington, and includes models of objects from the Brooklyn Museum of Art, the M.C. Carlos Museum at Emory University in Atlanta, and a growing list of partners. The models are available on Sketchfab, a platform for the hosting of 3D content. Through this project, students acquire advanced, practical skills in photogrammetry, the technique of taking the photos that are then processed into 3D models. Students can learn advanced modeling skills and other skills associated with 3D visualization by taking courses in Virtual Heritage in the IU School of Informatics, Computing and Engineering.
